Yesterday Cricket woke up feeling bad. Having shared the virus courtesy of our youngest, I hoped to head it off at the pass. We gave her some meds and had her spend the day in bed, hopeful that would be the end of it.  By last night, she was her usual peppy self and I anticipated a good school day today.  Then this morning, I’m putting on my shoes only to be arrested by this same child saying Mom I think I’m gonna throw up… I sent her running for the bathroom and followed her only to have her try for a bit and then almost pass out on me.  Carried her to my bed with her looking completely washed out and her eyes rolling back in her head, gave her more meds, and settled her down for another day in bed. 

Ever since this child was so horribly sick and hospitalized last August during Hurricane Katrina, dh and I have our hearts in our throats when she feels sick… and this time is no different.  Evidently the ‘pattern’ was familiar enough that even she felt a bit alarmed this morning, saying weaking how she really didn’t want to go into the hospital again.  She is able to keep food down since having had the anti-nausea meds but standing up makes her lose it again…

So much for a normal day, but that is the least of my worries… Thank goodness for history on tape!
